Designs and develops technical documentation, specifications, manuals and instructional materials for complex power conversion products and systems that can be easily understood by end-users, installers, engineers, facility managers, etc., including some with limited technical backgrounds
Prepares, maintains and updates database of technical information
Works with members of the Engineering/Product Development Team to identify needs, gather information, and structure effective documentation and/or training
Assists in conducting usability studies to help improve the design of a product that is in the prototype stage
Collaborates with technical staff to make products easier to use and requiring fewer instructions
Gathers usability feedback from customers regarding manuals
College diploma or university degree in Engineering
Understanding of power systems, including energy storage systems, and related terminology
A minimum of 5 years technical writing experience for power systems products
Familiarity and/or experience working in a engineering/technical organization with strict document control processes and procedures
Ability to train others where the role will involve training in-house service technicians and customers in the operation of the new power conversion products
Efficient and productive with acute attention to detail; organized thinker
Possesses outstanding written and verbal communication skills to prepare clear technical documentation, including diagrams with good interpersonal skills
Strong experience with industry standard publishing tools
Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship
